our statement of faith
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
[1 Timothy 3:16]
There is one true God, infinite and all powerful, a composite unity eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
[Deut 6:4; 1 Cor 8:6; Eph 4:4-6]
God is loving and merciful, holy and just and is the creator and sustainer of all things.

Human beings are made in the image of God. They are created to love, worship and enjoy fellowship with God and have been entrusted with the stewardship of God's creation.
[Gen 1:26-28; Gen 2:15]
Through human disobedience to God, sin and death entered the world. All have sinned and are therefore guilty before God and under God's judgement. Sin separates people from God and brings brokenness to human relationships, it disrupts the created order and distorts humanity's relationship with creation.
[Gen 3:1; Gen 6:5; Rom 3:23; Rom 8:20-22]
Jesus died on the cross for our sins as an atoning sacrifice - our representative and substitute. God raised Him bodily from the dead through the power of the Spirit as the firstfruits of the resurrection promised to Israel. He is exalted as the right hand of the Father, having received all authority in heaven and on earth.
[Isa 53:4-6; Psa 110:1; Matt 28:18; Mk 14:61–62; 1 Cor 15:3-5; Phil 2: 9-11 - Also see Romans chs 5 & 6]
Jesus will return in power and glory to consummate God's kingdom and to rule forever on David’s throne. He will ultimately effect the restoration of Israel in fullness, gather His people, judge the world in righteousness, and renew creation. Those unknown to Him will be raised to judgment and eternal separation from God; those who are known and belong to Him will be raised to enjoy eternal life in God's presence.
[Zech 14:3-4; Zech 14:9; Rev 19:11-15]
God has revealed Himself in creation and progressively revealed Himself through the history of Israel as transmitted in the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments.
[Gen1:1; Rom 1:20; 1 Cor 8:6]
All Scripture is uniquely inspired by God and therefore fully trustworthy (true) and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. It is a gift given by God to His people and has been provided to impart life and to inform, nurture, and guide His people in the ways of truth.
[2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:19-21]
Jesus is God's only begotten Son and God incarnate. He came to reveal God in human form, to proclaim the reign of God in the power of the Holy Spirit and to accomplish God's saving purposes. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a Jewish virgin, Mary. He lived a perfect and sinless human life and brings to perfection the human expression of the divine image.
[John 1:1; John 1:14; Col 2:9; Isa 7:14; Gal 4:4; Heb 1:1-4; Heb 4:15]
Salvation is the gift of God's grace through the atoning death of Jesus, and is available to all who believe in their hearts that Jesus is Lord and confess with their mouths that God raised Him from the dead & by faith receive Him as Saviour. They are born again by the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God.
[Eph 2:8-9; Rom 8:38-39]
Through the Spirit's indwelling and regeneration, God's people are comforted, taught, led and empowered. It is through this indwelling they are enabled to live holy lives. Supported by fellowship in the Church they are equipped and able to witness and work for Jesus and to glorify God in the world.
